Things to do in Connel and things to do in Oban
Connel is just 5 miles from the pretty harbour town of Oban providing Scotland's memorable “gateway to the isles” ensuring you can visit the romantic Scottish Isles with ease. Within particularly easy reach by Ferry is Mull and Tobermory the inspiration behind the highly successful BBC childrens TV series Balamory.

Oban offers a full range of shops and excellent restaurants with many offering fresh local seafood. For the energetic there is an excellent leisure centre as well as a swimming pool and equestrian riding centre. And as you would expect in Scotland, the home of golf, there is an 18 hole golf course.

The beautiful surrounding area of Argyll has many wonderful sites including the Historic Kilmartin Glen & Museum, the scenic Crinan Canal, the only bridge over the Atlantic and the Isles of Seil and Easdale.

Ideal for the curious and for children why not visit the award winning Cruachan Power Station & Visitor Centre or the educational but fun Scottish Sea Life Sanctuary.

With numerous forest, glen and coastline walks, cycle routes and picnic sites there is no excuse for exploring the local countryside and if you are interested in Scottish History then you'll be drawn to the numerous stunning & romantic highland castle ruins.

And to "top off" your break in Scotland why not head for the hills and climb the local Munro Ben Cruachan, or head to one of the local sandy beaches to feel the salt air in your face and admire the deep blue vista.
